WaterMay 23 2008

I have recently moved into a new home, and I am very aware of the difference in the water pressure. In my old home, the shower blasted down on me from a large, very expensive shower head. I could be in and out of the shower in 2.5 seconds flat. In my new home, the shower head is nothing extraordinary, and the water is soft and light and slow. At first I thought, “Oh my, this will have to change.” But now…

I think I will leave it just as it is.  When I am in the shower, I slow down and take my time. I actually feel the droplets touching my skin, and I get to hear the sounds of the water like rain on my roof. It takes time to rinse all of the soap out of my hair and off of my body… time that I get to be aware of the process. I get to be in the moment.

Funny how a change is at first so disconcerting and feels so strange. Then, if I allow myself time, I see that some things just aren’t suppose to always stay the same.

I agree, HappyMonkey. When I give myself permission to slow down is when I make my better decisions. My friends at http://www.coolpeoplecare.org speak of the value of time...thought you might like to check them out...if you haven’t already:)
